Inside Vantage Point and Doublepoint's Exit to Ōura
News and investment activity covering the next era of computing - brought to you by FOV Ventures.
Welcome to Viewpoints, news and investment activity covering the next era of computing - brought to you by FOV Ventures.
This Month:
We just wrapped Vantage Point: Robotics Edition in London - 300 investors, founders, and operators, 25 speakers, 6 panels, and 14 startup showcases.
The conversations showed how much has shifted in 18 months. Early-stage robotics companies now have customers, deployment pipelines, and paths to unit economics. The focus has moved to scaling - capital structure for hardware-intensive growth, building manufacturing partnerships, and navigating enterprise procurement cycles.
We published a full event recap covering the key sessions: NVIDIA and DeepMind on infrastructure readiness, the research-to-revenue translation problem, where capital is actually flowing, dual-use as default strategy, and what real deployment looks like across logistics, construction, and healthcare.

Portfolio Exit: Doublepoint → Oura
Doublepoint has been acquired by Oura for an undisclosed amount. One of our earliest bets from Fund I.
We backed Ohto, Jamin, Lauri and Eemil at seed when they were building gesture recognition tech that many couldn't yet see a use case for. Today they're joining Oura, an $11B company to build the next generation of human-device interaction.

Ohto was an obvious first call (and our first Finnish founder investment) when we launched FOV Ventures in 2020. We completely bought into Doublepoint's vision that new human-computer interfaces would be fundamental building blocks for the next era of computing.
Huge validation for the Finnish deep tech ecosystem, and you can read more about the decision to join Oura on Ohto’s personal blog.
Pathways Summit: The Female LP Report Launch May 6, Helsinki
We're launching the first data-driven report on female LP participation in European venture capital. Over six months, FOV Ventures, Tesi, and partners across 16 countries surveyed women about their relationship with venture capital as an asset class.
The event includes:
Report launch with key findings and data.
Workshops and working sessions, including a live DD simulation.
Networking and facilitated introductions.
This is for women exploring investing in VC funds, GPs building a broader LP base, institutional investors, and anyone working to widen the European VC funding base.
FOV Robotics Market Map 2026 Now Live
We published our European Robotics Market Map - mapping where the next generation of physical AI companies are being built across 12 application verticals and 6 enabling technology layers.

The map covers industrial robotics, logistics, healthcare, agriculture, construction, defence, and the full enabling stack from hardware components to AI models. It's a collaborative resource - contribute companies, corrections, or updates directly.
This is a collaborative map that will continue to evolve and expand - contribute companies, corrections, or updates here.
ICYMI: Europe's Deep Tech Frontier
Last month of Vantage Point, David Ripert published an in-depth analysis on why Europe is positioned to lead in physical AI and robotics. The piece covers Europe's research-to-real-world advantage, structural advantages in spatial computing, and the case for European technological sovereignty.
